Two system cooling maintenance found both blower wheels are impacted. And oil saturation on the upstairs evaporator coil.
Quarterly filter change for Aprilaire Media Filter
One system cooling maintenance found early signs of biological growth above the evaporator coil. Also found that the equipment doesn’t have refrigerant tampering locks installed.
During the maintenance of two cooling systems, a significant amount of biological growth was discovered within the air handler cabinet. This growth, which can compromise air quality and system efficiency, was thoroughly examined. To address this issue, a detailed inspection of the entire system was conducted, identifying the root cause of the growth. A recommendation was made to install a UV light system as a preventive measure. This UV light will help eliminate biological contaminants, ensuring cleaner air and improved system performance. The proposed solution aims to enhance indoor air quality and extend the lifespan of the cooling systems.
During the routine cooling maintenance, I thoroughly inspected the system and found no mechanical issues. The customer reported persistent odors emanating from the equipment. Upon investigation, I discovered that the blower door was not properly secured to the furnace. This unsecured door likely allowed odors from the crawl space to enter the system. I reattached the blower door securely, ensuring it would not come loose again. The system was tested to confirm proper operation and the elimination of odors. The customer was satisfied with the resolution and the system's performance.
